The success of the “Insidious” franchise made another sequel almost guaranteed but following a pair of prequels that traveled back in time, the decision was made to return to the Lambert family that served as the focus in the first two films in the series.
This time around Patrick Wilson was tapped to both star as family patriarch Josh Lambert but he would also go behind the camera to serve as director for the first time in his career. Leigh Wannell, who crafted the original film, returned to create a story for the fifth film with veteran screenwriter Scott Teems handling the script.
The story picks up nine years after the events in “Insidious: Chapter 2” as Dalton Lambert prepares to leave for college but after having his memory wiped, he’s lost when he’s revisited by the ghosts from his past and he’s forced to navigate another journey into the depths of the Further…
