YouTubers Danny and Michael Philippou were well known for their hilarious and creative videos made under the shared name RackaRacka but those skits were always just a means to an end for the duo.
It turns out they always wanted to transition into feature filmmaking so every stunt, fight scene or effect done in those videos were just practice to eventually make their own movie. An interest in horror films along with a spark from a heartbreaking story about a group of kids laughing and mocking someone having a convulsion led to the idea for a script that eventually became their first film.
When a group of teenagers obtain an embalmed hand that allows them to speak to the dead and become possessed by condemned souls, they push the envelope too hard and leave a crack between the corporal and spirit worlds that should never be opened…
