A sequel to the ‘Halloween’ reboot is reportedly in the works with production expected to kick off later this year before the movie drops in October, 2020…
The boogieman will seemingly return again.
‘Halloween 2’ — a direct sequel to 2018’s wildly popular ‘Halloween’ reboot that served as a direct sequel to the original film released in 1978 — will reportedly go into production after Labor Day with a release date expected in October 2020.
According to Collider, Blumhouse is returning to produce the upcoming ‘Halloween’ sequel with all of the major players involved in the last film expected to return including David Gordon Green, who apparently wrote the script and will also direct the next film in the franchise as well.
While talent deals haven’t closed yet, Jamie Lee Curtis is expected to return as Laurie Strode as well as Judy Greer and Andi Matichak, who played her daughter and granddaughter in the last ‘Halloween’ movie.
The studio hasn’t made any announcements yet but both Jason Blumhouse and Curtis were adamant about Green returning to helm a sequel if that ever happened and it appears everybody is on board for another ‘Halloween’ movie.
The most recent reboot/sequel was made for just $10 million but grossed over $250 million at the box office so it seemed inevitable that a sequel would come along sooner rather than later. Now it appears ‘Halloween 2’ is already in the works with an expected release date in 2020.
