The second season of Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ has a debut date on Hulu as well as a few new plot details being revealed…
Season 2 of Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ will land on Hulu on Friday, December 21 but unlike the first season, all 13 episodes will drop at once for everybody to binge over the holidays.
The first season of ‘Runaways’ debuted with three episodes and then each week followed with a new episode being released on Hulu. Now the show will follow the popular format from Netflix and some other streaming services where the entire season is released on one day.
As for the plot details surrounding ‘Runaways’ season 2 — the story will pick up just hours after the season one finale when the teenagers rebelling against their evil parents finally decided to break free and run away from home.
“The focus shifts now to these kids trying to survive on the streets, and they’re kids from Brentwood — they are not really used to living on the streets of Los Angeles,” executive producer Josh Schwartz said about the upcoming season. “There is a greater tension and momentum in where we are at the part of the story.”
The kids in the ‘Runaways’ will also set up camp at a place famous from the comics known as the ‘Hostel’, which in the TV show version is a mansion that was swallowed up by an earthquake or a mudslide and that’s where everybody is living after fleeing from their parents, who are part of the evil organization known as the Pride.
The tease for the season also includes a message being sent to Jonah with information about the kids and their plans — which then begs the question is somebody already turning traitor on the group? That was a major plot twist in the comic book so perhaps that’s where the show is headed as well.
Finally, Schwartz also teased one major ‘breadcrumb’ that will appear before the end of the season that will tie the ‘Runaways’ to the larger Marvel Universe. It’s unclear what that connection will be but it appears at least in some way, ‘Runaways’ is part of the same shared universe as the ‘Avengers’ and the numerous Marvel series on Netflix as well.
‘Runaways’ season 2 drops on Dec. 21 on Hulu.
