Sarah Paulson appears to be joining Evan Peters sitting out the newest installment of ‘American Horror Story’ debuting in September…
Sarah Paulson will apparently check out of ‘American Horror Story’ for the upcoming season set to debut on September 18 on FX.
According to Variety, Paulson has opted to sit out of a starring role for this season, although it’s possible she could make a brief appearance in a cameo of some sort. The newest installment titled ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ is expected to serve as an homage to the classic slasher films of the 1980’s including ‘Friday the 13th’, ‘Halloween’ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’.
Emma Roberts has been confirmed as one of the lead roles for the new season but much of the rest of the cast has remained a mystery.
Paulson will join Evan Peters, who is also sitting out this season of ‘American Horror Story’ after he had previously appeared in every other installment in a starring role. Paulson has also appeared in all of the seasons of ‘American Horror Story’ but she will not have a major role if at all for the upcoming installment.
Just because Paulson isn’t expected to appear in ‘American Horror Story’ doesn’t mean she won’t be very busy, which could have easily played a part in her decision to forgo this latest installment.
Paulson is set to star in ‘Ratched’ — the prequel series based on ‘One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Next’, which is being developed for Netflix by ‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy. Paulson is also simultaneously filming roles in several other series including ‘Mrs. America’ for FX as well as film roles in the upcoming movies ‘Run’ and ‘The Goldfinch’.
Details about the new season of ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ remain sketchy but expect a trailer forthcoming from FX over the next few weeks as they prepare for the latest installment off the popular horror anthology to return in September.
