With “Scream 6” set to get into production this summer, several cast members from the recent sequel have been confirmed to return along with some plot details…
The next “Scream” sequel will get into production this summer ahead of a March 31, 2023 release and many of the cast members from the previous installment have now been confirmed to return.
Melissa Barrera (Sam), Jenna Ortega (Tara), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy) and Mason Gooding (Chad) have all been confirmed to comeback for the upcoming sequel that will also see the team from Radio Silence — directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett returning with a script from writers James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick.
The creative team for the new sequel is exactly the same as the recently released “Scream” film, which grossed more than $140 million at the worldwide box office.
Details surrounding the new “Scream” remain shrouded in mystery but a small detail was revealed along with the cast announcement:
“The four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.”
As of now, there’s been no official word on any of the legacy cast members returning, although Courteney Cox had previously revealed her plans to comeback for another sequel to portray Gale Weathers again. Perhaps the biggest question at this stage is whether or not Neve Campbell will return to play Sidney Prescott in yet another “Scream” movie but chances are those announcements will be saved for a later date.
Filming on the newest “Scream” will take place in Canada this time around after the last movie was filmed in North Carolina.
