“Scream 6” will feature the same creative team behind the fifth “Scream” feature with Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett set to serve as directors with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick writing the script. Both the writers and directors worked on the fifth “Scream” movie, which opened back in January and earned over $140 million at the worldwide box office.
The success of the film made a sequel almost guaranteed with Paramount giving the green light with the same creative team returning for “Scream 6.”
Right now, plot details surrounding the next “Scream” movie are unknown, although production on the movie are expected to kick off this summer with filming taking place in Canada this time around rather than North Carolina where the last movie was filmed.
There’s no word on which members of the cast may or may not be returning, although Courteney Cox has already stated that she will return to play Gale Weathers again for the sixth installment in the “Scream” franchise.
Keep an eye out for more “Scream 6” news as it becomes available with casting expected to get underway very soon as production moves closer to the start date.
