Samara Weaving will re-team with the filmmakers behind “Ready or Not” when she joins the cast for the upcoming “Scream” sequel…
As “Scream 6” continues production in Canada, Samara Weaving has been confirmed as the latest cast member to join the upcoming sequel due out on March 31, 2023.
The film will reunite Weaving with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett after they all worked together on the breakout horror hit “Ready or Not” in 2019.
Weaving had actually been contacted about appearing in the most recent “Scream” sequel released in January but unfortunately her schedule conflicted with filming so she wasn’t able to appear in the movie. Now Weaving has an opening so she can finally return to work with the same directors and writers behind “Ready or Not.”
Also joining the cast for “Scream 6” is Tony Revolori — best known for his appearance in all three recent “Spider-Man” films including “Spider-Man: No Way Home” as well as a recurring role on the Apple+ horror series “Servant” from M. Night Shyamalan.
There’s no word on the characters Weaving and Revolori will be playing but they join a cast that includes Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy-Brown and Mason Gooding, who are all returning from the most recent “Scream” sequel as well as Courteney Cox reprising her role as Gale Weathers and Hayden Panettiere returning as Kirby Reed after previously portraying that character in “Scream 4.”
Filming is taking place in Canada with production currently underway on the sequel.
