The final film in the new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy along with the latest ‘Indiana Jones’ film now have release dates…
Disney and Lucasfilm have unveiled the release date for ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ as well as the latest sequel in the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise.
‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ — directed by Colin Trevorrow (Jurrasic World) — will hit theaters on May 24, 2019.
This is a much earlier date than originally expected as the last two ‘Star Wars’ films — ‘The Force Awakens’ and the upcoming ‘The Last Jedi’ — have both received December premiere dates.
That means ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ will land in theaters approximately a year and a half after the second film in the trilogy, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, which is due out on December 15.
Also announced on Tuesday, the latest ‘Indiana Jones’ film is now set for release on July 10, 2020 with Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford both attached to the upcoming sequel. Ford will celebrate his 78th birthday just days after the new ‘Indiana Jones’ film is set for release.
