The final season of “Stranger Things” will get into production in January following a long delay with the actors and writers’ strikes…

“Stranger Things” is set to start production on the fifth and final season of the series.

Following a seven month delay due to the writers and actors’ strikes, the cast and crew behind the hugely popular Netflix series are expected to get back to work in early January to begin filming the final episodes.

While production will begin in early 2024, it’s highly unlikely that the show will actually debut on Netflix until sometime in 2025 and it’s entirely possible that the final season gets split into two parts much like season 4. The supersized fourth season debuted in two different parts with the finale running for nearly two and a half hours!

While writing had already started on “Stranger Things” season 5, it’s unknown how far along creators Matt and Ross Duffer got into planning before the strikes began that shut down everything in Hollywood. What we do know for certain is that the first episode of the final season of “Stranger Things” will be titled “Chapter 1: The Crawl” and the first lines from the script had previously been revealed.

There are no details about the massive plans for “Stranger Things” season 5 but all signs point to a major cinematic endeavor, especially considering the huge attention for this series.

The entire cast of “Stranger Things” is set to return for season 5 including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke and Priah Ferguson.

One new cast member joining “Stranger Things” for season 5 will be “Terminator” favorite Linda Hamilton, who previously signed on to star in an undisclosed role.

When “Stranger Things” season 4 ended, the Upside Down had started bleeding over into the real world after a crack was opened between the two universes with Hawkins, Indiana now threatened by the supernatural forces led by Vecna. Meanwhile, all of the characters from the series were finally reunited including Eleven’s heartfelt moment discovering that her surrogate dad Hopper was still alive.

Addressing plans for the grand finale just after season 4 ended, the Duffer brothers admitted that certain things haven’t been mapped out just yet but they definitely know how it all will end.

“While a lot of Season 5 is actually pretty blurry, the last 30 minutes of it are pretty clear in our heads. So if we can make the journey entertaining, I think that we have an end that will hopefully satisfy. You can’t satisfy everyone, but the hope is that it’s something that feels right for this story.”

Stay tuned for more details about “Stranger Things” season 5 as it becomes available and once production actually gets underway in early 2024!
