The next installment of ‘Stranger Things’ will not land on Netflix until at least summer 2019….
If you’re waiting on season 3 of ‘Stranger Things’, you’re going to have to wait a while longer.
On Sunday, Netflix revealed that ‘Stranger Things’ season 3 isn’t expected to bow until at least summer 2019 as the show runners continue to craft the best possible eight episode run of the highly popular series.
“It’s a handcrafted show,” Netflix vice president of original content Cindy Holland said on Sunday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “[Show creators] The Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard, and they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so they really want to take the time to get it right.
“I think it’s going to be a fantastic season. It’s gonna be worth the wait.”
It was previously teased that ‘Stranger Things’ season 3 may not debut until the middle of next year when the show released a teaser for ‘Starcourt Mall’ — a new facility opening in fictional Hawkins, Indiana in the summer — which led many to believe the show wasn’t going to return in 2018.
Now it’s confirmed as the Duffer brothers continue to film the show in Atlanta, Georgia with plans to release ‘Stranger Things’ season 3 next summer.
