Here’s a full breakdown of the 2022 Emmy Award nominations with “Succession” receiving the most out of any show on television…
The full list of nominees for the 2022 Emmy Awards have been revealed with “Succession” earning the most nominations of any show on TV this year.
The critically acclaimed HBO drama secured 25 total nominations this year including a nod in the Best Drama category after previously taking home that award back in 2020 as well.
Numerous actors from “Succession” also ended up being nominated including Bryan Cox and Jeremy Strong in the Best Actor in a Drama Series category. The Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories were also filled with nominees from “Succession” including J. Smith Cameron, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfayden.
Outside of “Succession,” the breakout Netflix series “Squid Game” also 14 nominations after a breakout freshman season. The series earned a Best Drama Series nod with Lee Jung-jae earning a nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series as well.
Meanwhile, “Stranger Things” got shut out of the acting categories, which was a surprise given some strong performances from actors such as Sadie Sink and Millie Bobby Brown this past season. The hugely popular show did end up nominated for Best Drama Series as well as several nominations in the technical categories as well.
One show that didn’t make an appearance in any of the major categories in the Paramount Network hit show “Yellowstone,” which continued to be shut out at the Emmys despite many experts believing the series would finally get its due this year. Beyond Kevin Costner’s performance in a lead role, Kelly Reilly has received rave reviews for her portrayal of the always outspoken and brash Beth Dutton on cable’s No. 1 series.
Sadly, “Yellowstone” earned zero nominations at the 2022 Emmy Awards.
