A former star from ‘Banshee’ will be going up against ‘Supergirl’ in season 3…
Odette Annable — best known for her role as Nola Longshadow on the Cinemax series ‘Banshee’ — has joined the cast for ‘Supergirl’ season 3 as the main villain opposing the girl of steel.
At the end of season 2, a new adversary was introduced when a pod was launched from a dying Krypton with the threat that the person inside would one day reign. That was a teaser for the villain known as Reign, who is one of the “Worldkillers” — an alien species that was captured and experimented on by Kryptonian scientists in an attempt to transform them into a powerful weapon.
Annable will play Reign in season three as she goes up against Supergirl as her primary adversary.
“Greg [Berlanti[ and I have wanted to work with Odette for years,” executive producer Andrew Kriesberg said about the casting. “We are beyond excited to have her join our cast in the scary, powerful and heartbreaking role of Reign.”
STOKED to join @TheCWSupergirl & @DCComics to play the Bad Girl in town. Thank you @GBerlanti & @AJKreisberg for this! Let's make it Reign!

It will be an interesting twist for ‘Supergirl’ after going up against aliens from Daxam last season but now Kara Danvers will meet an equally powerful enemy genetically designed to be a weapon of mass destruction by her own people on Krypton.
‘Supergirl’ season 3 goes into production this summer with a fall debut on the CW.
