‘Supergirl’ is bringing the iconic villain Lex Luthor to the show during season 4 with casting for the part expected to start soon…
Throughout the past three seasons of ‘Supergirl’, Lex Luthor has played a major part in the series without ever actually being seen before but that’s going to change very soon.
‘Supergirl’ will finally introduce a new Lex Luthor during season 4 with casting for the part expected to start very soon.
“We’re beyond excited to introduce iconic villain, Lex Luthor, to Supergirl and to weave him into our story this season,” executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said in a statement released on Thursday.
Lex Luthor has been mentioned dozens of times during the course of ‘Supergirl’, particularly because both his mother and sister play major roles on the series. In the story that’s being told on ‘Supergirl’, Lex has been incarcerated this entire time after his last tangle with Superman but his influence has played a major part in his mother’s attempts to wipe out the aliens on Earth while his sister Lena has worked tirelessly to change the image of the company her brother once ran.
It’s unknown at this time how young or old they’ll be looking to cast for the new Lex Luthor but fans online have already been banging the drum in hopes that Michael Rosenbaum — who played Lex for several seasons on ‘Smallville’ — would at least be considered. Rosenbaum was arguably the best version of Lex Luthor out of anybody who portrayed him on the big or small screen but whether or not he could be convinced to return to the role is unknown.
What we do know for certain is Lex Luthor is coming to National City and he’s sure to face off with ‘Supergirl’ when he first appears during season 4.
