Margot Kidder — who is best known for playing ace reporter Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in the Superman films — has died at the age of 69.
The veteran actress died at her home on Sunday according to a report from Variety.
Kidder was born in Canada and starred in several films and movies before landing the role as Lois Lane in the 1978 classic Superman, directed by Richard Donner. Kidder would go onto star in that role three more times alongside Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman.
In addition to her iconic role in Superman, Kidder also starred in feature films such as the original Amityville Horror as well as making guest appearances in dozens of television shows over the years. Kidder also became a prominent voice actress including her role in the original Captain Planet cartoon series.
Kidder is survived by her daughter and grandchildren.
