After just a single episode, “Superman & Lois” has already been renewed for a second season on The CW….
“Superman & Lois” will fly again.
The new series, which just featured its second episode on Tuesday night, has already been renewed for a second season on The CW.
The debut double-episode helped The CW end up with the most watched night on the network in the past two years and the best ever one day streaming ratings in history.
“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of ‘Superman & Lois,’ which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment,” The CW CEO Mark Pedowitz said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in ‘Superman & Lois’ and ‘Walker,’ both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”

Starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in the lead roles after both actors portrayed the same characters during various appearances on past CW series such as “Supergirl” and during the recent “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, the new “Superman & Lois” sees the couple leave Metropolis for Smallville after a family tragedy.
Of course, the new version of “Superman & Lois” also sets up the lead characters as parents to twin teenage sons — Jonathan and Jordan — with one of them beginning to exhibit powers similar to his famous father.
Teamed up with “The Flash,” which has consistently been the CW’s highest performing series, “Superman & Lois” will help the network feature a serious one-two punch on Tuesday nights.
Season 1 of “Superman & Lois” continues at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday nights on the CW.
