Jeffrey Dean Morgan will finally get the chance to team up with “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke again after joining “The Boys” season 4 in a mystery role.
News about Morgan joining the hit Amazon Prime Video series was revealed on Thursday.
“Fuckin hell! ‘The Boys’ bring this shit on!” Morgan wrote on Instagram after the news was released.
Morgan has been teasing a possible role on “The Boys” for the past couple of seasons but timing never worked out for him to actually join the show due to his commitment to “The Walking Dead.” While Morgan is still busy at work on a spinoff series called “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” where he starts alongside Lauren Cohan, he’ll be able to carve out enough time to also join “The Boys” for season 4.
The series just went into production for the fourth season in Toronto a few days ago with Morgan’s casting now officially announced.
In addition to his role as Negan on “The Walking Dead,” Morgan also made frequent appearances as the Winchester family patriarch on “Supernatural,” which is where he first became acquainted with Kripke, who now serves as the showrunner for “The Boys.” Morgan has also appeared in series such as “Weeds” as well as films like “Watchmen” in previous years.
As of now, there’s been no detail revealed about what role Morgan will play so it remains to be seen if he’ll get the chance to play a Supe or perhaps somebody working for or against The Boys as they attempt to bring down Vought International.
With “The Boys” season 4 just starting production, the series is not expected to return to Amazon Prime Video until sometime in 2023.
