Jack Quaid will trade the blood and guts of “The Boys” for even more blood and guts on the upcoming “Scream” sequel due out in 2022…
Jack Quaid must just have a thing for bloody violence.
The actor who is best known for his role as Hugh Campbell on the hit Amazon Prime series “The Boys” will be trading in his battles against superheroes to instead face off with a famed slasher in the upcoming “Scream” sequel.
Quaid has officially joined the upcoming “Scream 5” movie, which is set to go into production in Wilmington, N.C. later this year with a Jan. 14, 2022 release date for the movie.
“Ready or Not” filmmakers Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be directing the upcoming “Scream” sequel with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick penning the script. Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett are taking over the franchise following the death of legendary horror director Wes Craven, who previously directed all four “Scream” installments.
It’s unknown who Quaid will be playing but he will join returning cast members David Arquette and Courteney Cox, who are both reprising their roles from the first four “Scream” movies for the upcoming sequel. Neve Campbell, who played original series scream queen Sidney Prescott confirmed talks were ongoing to join the sequel earlier this year but there’s never been any confirmation that she’s actually returning or not.
Quaid will next appear in “The Boys” season 2, which debuts on Amazon Prime this Friday, Sept. 4 with a third season of the show already in the works.
