The CW has laid out the premiere dates for several series including the return of “The Flash,” “Batwoman” and “Riverdale”….
Following long delays in production schedules due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming started again for almost every major series on The CW and now premiere dates for 2021 have been revealed.
Most shows airing on the CW were forced to wrap up early after filming was shut down earlier this year. “The Flash” had to cut out several episodes, which prevented the show from wrapping up one particular story arc and then setting up what’s to come in season 7.
“Riverdale” was also forced to shut down production, which left that show on a precarious cliffhanger with plans to feature a rather significant time jump during season 5. In fact, “Riverdale” plans on moving ahead several years during season 5 with the majority of the main cast returning after already completing college.
“Batwoman” season 2 also got a debut date as that show undergoes a rather dramatic shift following the exit of series star Ruby Rose after the close of season 1. Rose opted out of returning to the CW series, which forced producers to change directions by casting Javicia Leslie in a new lead role as Ryan Wilder, who will take over the cape and cowl of Batwoman in season 2.
The upcoming premiere dates also includes the series debut for “Superman & Lois,” which joins the growing line up of shows set in the DC universe.
