Chris Klein will be facing off with the Scarlet Speedster as the featured villain during ‘The Flash’ season 5…
Chris Klein — best known for his role in ‘American Pie’ and several sequels — has been cast in a villainous role for ‘The Flash’ season 5.
The news of his casting was first announced at San Diego Comic Con on Saturday.
Klein will be playing a villain named Cicada, who was a cult leader in the comics who converted a group of followers into hunting down and killing anyone who the Flash ever saved or rescued. In ‘The Flash’ television series, Klein’s character is described as “a grizzled, blue-collar everyman whose family has been torn apart by metahumans” and now he “seeks to exterminate the epidemic — one metahuman at a time.”
This will be the second season in a row where ‘The Flash’ has moved away from casting another speedster as the main villain, although it’s impossible to know what exactly lies ahead.
What is known for certain is that Klein joins a growing cast at ‘The Flash’ after Jessica Parker Kennedy was upped to a series regular for season 5 as she will play Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future while Hartley Sawyer will also join the show as a series regular playing Ralph Dibny aka Elongated Man.
‘The Flash’ returns to the CW on Tuesday night, October 9 at 8 p.m.
