Kiersey Clemons will star as Iris West opposite Ezra Miller in “The Flash” movie from director Andy Muschietti…
“The Flash” has found its leading lady.
Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West in the upcoming Warner Bros./DC film from director Andy Muschietti where she will star opposite Ezra Miller, who portrays Barry Allen/The Flash.
Clemons previously portrayed Iris West in Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” movie but her scenes were cut out of the theatrical version largely put together by director Joss Whedon. Snyder has now put Clemons back into his version of the film with the long awaited “Snyder Cut” of “Justice League” set for release on HBO Max on March 18.
Clemons has previously starred in films such as “Dope” while also making numerous appearances on television in series such as “Transparent,” “Extant” and “Easy.”
Clemons was obviously cast in the role of Iris West several years ago but it was unclear due to scheduling and production times whether or not she would be able to return for “The Flash” movie, which has undergone numerous directors, script changes and delays over the years.
The newest version directed by Muschietti — best known for his work on “It” and “It: Chapter 2” — will span across the DC multiverse with Barry Allen crossing paths with characters from past films including Michael Keaton, who will be reprising his role as Batman for the first time since 1992’s “Batman Returns.”
Ben Affleck will also appear in the film as a different version of Batman after he portrayed that role in several movies including Zack Snyder’s “Justice League.”
In the comics, Iris West is Barry Allen’s longtime love interest after they grew up together following the death of Barry’s mother, which is a crime blamed on his father and that leaves the future Flash without a home.
Fans will get a chance to see Clemons as Iris in “Justice League” when it drops on March 18 and she will go into production on “The Flash” movie later this year with the film expected to drop in theaters on November 4, 2022.
