During one moment ahead of Barry and Iris’ wedding, a character from the future may have appeared during the ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ crossover…
There’s a lot happening during the massive four-episode, two night event crossover between ‘Arrow’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ and ‘The Flash’.
In fact, one relatively odd scene was jammed into the first episode, which was ‘Supergirl’, as Barry encounters an overly enthusiastic waitress offering him water before the ceremony begins.
The girl mentions how this is an epic wedding for the ages and almost seems to bubble over with excitement when talking to Barry, who comments that he feels like he knows her from somewhere before she exits.
Is it possible that this girl that Barry Allen just spoke to is actually his granddaughter?
The actress who played the part — Jessica Parker Kennedy — isn’t just some random extra but in fact she’s starred in several other series including ‘Black Sails’ and ‘Colony’. She was cast for a role during the ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ crossover and it seems specifically for this interaction with Barry Allen.
In the future, Barry and Iris have two children — twins they name Don and Dawn Allen, who become a superhero duo known as the Tornado Twins thanks to the super speed they inherit from their father. Now there are theories that perhaps Kennedy is playing Dawn Allen, who returns from the future to catch a glimpse of her parents’ wedding.
The more appealing theory, however, is that Kennedy is playing Jenni Ognats aka XS, a member of the Legion of Superheroes from the 30th century and she’s Barry and Iris’ granddaughter from the future. The reason why XS might be a more logical character to show up is because the Legion of Superheroes are scheduled to appear on ‘Supergirl’ this season with one character — Saturn Girl — already popping up last week when Mon-El revealed that he had traveled to the future and back again.
Kennedy’s appearance also took place during the ‘Supergirl’ episode of the crossover so that only adds fuel to the fire that she’s got some family connection to Barry Allen.
Whether she’s playing his daughter or his granddaughter, it’s a safe bet that we’re going to see her again, especially with this Legion of Superheroes story about to unfold on ‘Supergirl’. Now we just need to know if Barry will actually find out her identity or if that will only be revealed at a later date.
Either way, this girl seemed very happy to be there to witness Barry and Iris getting married and there’s no chance this was just some coincidence.
