The first full length trailer for “The Walking Dead: Dead City” has arrived as the first spinoff after the main series ended arrives in June…
The first look at “The Walking Dead: Dead City” has arrived as the spinoff series reunites Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan together again as an unlikely team forced to work together in a perilous trip that sends them both to New York City.
“The Walking Dead: Dead City” is the first spinoff series to drop since the main show ended in 2023 with several more already in the works including one focused on the return of Rick Grimes and Michonne as played by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira.
As for “Dead City,” this spinoff series happens at an undetermined time in the future after the events of “The Walking Dead” as Maggie calls on Negan to help her rescue her son Herschel after he’s kidnapped during a raid on her community.
So why exactly would Maggie ask for Negan’s help? Well that’s because the man who took her son is somebody that Negan knows from his past — perhaps a former Savior?
Here’s the full synopsis for “The Walking Dead: Dead City” from AMC:
“The Walking Dead: Dead City follows the popular Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) characters traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.”
Gaius Charles and Željko Ivanek are also set to star in the upcoming series, which debuts on AMC on Sunday, June 18 at 10 p.m. ET with subsequent episodes airing on AMC on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
