The voice cast for Robert Kirkman’s new animated Amazon series ‘Invicible will reunite him with a former ‘Walking Dead’ star as well as several more big names…
‘Invincible’ — the eight episode adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic book’ — will land on Amazon in the near future and the all-star voice cast for the series was just revealed.
Kirkman, who is best known as the creator of ‘The Walking Dead’, will reunite with one of his old cast members from the AMC series to voice the lead role as Steven Yeun (Glenn on ‘The Walking Dead’) will portray 17-year old Mark Grayson, who is the son of the most powerful superhero on the planet Omni-Man, who will be voiced by current ‘Counterpart’ star J.K. Simmons.
‘Invincible’ is a coming of age story for a superhero as Mark starts to develop his own powers and attempts to follow in his father’s footsteps. While this is an animated series, this is anything but made for children as Kirkman’s comic was an ultra-violent, ultra-bloody and often times ultra-graphic portrayal of superheroes.
In addition to Yeun and Simmons leading the way, the rest of the regular voices on the series will be provided by — Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Mark Hamill, Gillian Jacobs, Zazie Beetz, and Andrew Rannells. Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin and Max Burkholder will also provide voices to the series.
There’s no word on when ‘Invincible’ will debut but the eight-episode animated series will air on Amazon Prime.
