The Wil Wheaton Project Lands on SyFy in May

Sheldon Cooper’s arch nemesis Wil Wheaton will return to TV in May with a new talk show on SyFy appropriately called ‘The Wil Wheaton Project’…

Star Trek veteran and all around geek guy Wil Wheaton will return to television this May with a new 30 minute weekly show on SyFy focusing on science fiction, pop culture, television and movies.

The new show will debut on May 27 at 10pm ET/PT with the first episode as Wheaton delivers all of the information first hand, with at least 12 episodes ordered thus far that will run into the summer months.

“I really love that I get to be part of something that brings Science Fiction back to Syfy, and if I read correctly between the lines during our meetings with the Syfy executives, this is just the beginning of the network formerly known as Sci-Fi returning to its science fiction roots, which is awesome,” Wheaton wrote on Wednesday.

As he describes the show it’s like a ‘talk soup for geeks’ so this should be an interesting exploration into a talk show made specifically for the super nerdy. It’s good to see a new show like this make it to air with a host that’s someone other than Chris Hardwick.

Good on you, Syfy!
