‘True Detective’ season 3 has added another important piece to the puzzle.
Carmen Ejogo — best known for her work in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ as well as ‘Alien: Covenant’ and ‘Selma’ — has landed the co-lead role alongside Mahershala Ali in the new season of the series from creator Nic Pizzolatto for HBO.
Not much is known about ‘True Detective’ season 3 other than the brief synopsis that was released after the show was officially picked up by HBO — ‘True Detective season 3 “tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”
Ali was cast a few months ago as HBO ordered a third season of ‘True Detective’ after the second season was largely criticized, especially when compared to the acclaimed first season starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
There’s no word yet on when ‘True Detective’ season 3 will go into production or debut on HBO.
