The first trailer for “American Horror Story: Delicate” has arrived with Emma Roberts facing a pregnancy from hell….
There’s a little less mystery than usual about the upcoming 12th season of “American Horror Story” titled “Delicate” because for the first time ever, the anthology series will be based on an existing work.
The season is based on Danielle Valentine’s new book titled “Delicate Condition,” which follows a woman named Anna Alcott, who is convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens―while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.
Anna Alcott in the show will be played by “American Horror Story” regular Emma Roberts, who revels in the news that she’s pregnant but it doesn’t take long for that joy to turn to sheer terror as strange occurrences start happening all around her.
The book is described as a feminist update to the classic “Rosemary’s Baby” and there are definitely vibes just like that classic horror film (and book) throughout the trailer for the new season of “American Horror Story.”
Roberts will be joined in the upcoming season by Cara Delevingne and a bit of stunt casting with Kim Kardashian also on the show.
“American Horror Story: Delicate” will also be the first season where creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are largely hands off with the story and production with Halley Feiffer writing every single episode and also serving as the showrunner for the latest installment in the long running series.
Feiffer is best known as an award-winning playwright while also working as an actress as well as a writer for TV series such as “Mozart in the Jungle.”
“American Horror Story: Delicate” part one will debut on FX on September 20 and then the next day on Hulu. There’s no word yet when part two will debut.
For now, take a look at the new trailer for “American Horror Story: Delicate” and get ready for the show to return on Sept. 20.
