Get a first look at the final season of “Billions” as Bobby Axelrod makes his triumphant return with an epic showdown brewing between his old enemies…
“Billions” will go out in a blaze of glory with the seventh and final season set to debut on August 11 as Damian Lewis makes his return as Bobby Axelrod.
The first look at the final season dropped on Tuesday with a new trailer that previews the storylines, rivalries and upcoming battles that will define these last episodes.
As a reminder — Bobby Axelrod got caught in a criminal conspiracy that forced him to sell his company to Mike Prince and flee the country where he would take up a new residence in Switzerland. As the new head of Mike Prince Capital, Mike looked to conquer some very ambitious business plans but none bigger than the last domino that fell in the “Billions” season 6 finale — he wants to run for President of the United States.
As for Chuck Rhoades, he never got his man where Bobby Axelrod was concerned so he quickly turned his attention to Mike Prince instead but still struggled to find a way to bring him down. When the new season begins it appears that Chuck has been restored to his old post as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, which will give him plenty of power to go after people like Prince and Axe for that matter.
The trailer also teases the return of Russian oligarch Grigor Andolov played by the great John Malkovich, who hasn’t appeared in the series since season 4.
Here’s the official synopsis for “Billions” season 7 from Showtime:
“In season 7, alliances are turned on their heads. Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends. And Bobby Axelrod returns, as the stakes grow from Wall Street to the world.”
