The new “Billions” season 6 trailer has arrived with Chuck Rhoades determined to not only topple Mike Prince but all billionaires in New York…
When “Billions” season 5 came to an end, Bobby Axelrod had fled the country and the pending legal charges against him in order to escape to a new life in Switzerland but only after he sold off all of his holdings to his greatest rival, Mike Prince.
Now when season 6 begins, Prince has taken over Axe Capital as well as all of the employees who previously worked for Axe minus a couple of holdouts who just couldn’t fathom taking orders from a new boss.
The first full trailer for “Billions’ season 6 shows Prince solidifying his position as the new head of Prince Capital as he attempts to navigate the rather choppy waters left behind for him when Axe left town.
Of course, Prince didn’t attain his position of power without going around Chuck Rhoades, who wanted nothing more than to see Bobby Axelrod carried off in handcuffs. Instead, Chuck was left humiliated after realizing that Prince had played him just like everybody else in order to get what he truly wanted — Axe gone and now Prince is in control of his company.
Here’s the official synopsis for “Billions” season 6 on Showtime, which returns on Sunday night, January 23
“As Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) takes his place on the Axe Capital throne, he’s determined to change the game – and new money means no mercy. Meanwhile, Chuck Rhoades is convinced no one should have that much wealth or that much power. With Prince firmly in Chuck’s crosshairs, forces will be rallied and scores will be settled. And as all the players seek out new alliances, only one thing’s for certain… wealth means war.”
Judging by the trailer, Chuck declares war on all billionaires and that’s going to put him at odds with a lot of power brokers in New York while Prince is focused on a new objective — bringing the 2028 Olympic games to New York City.
