Get a first look at the new horror film “Black Phone,” which is based on a story by Joe Hill and features Ethan Hawke as a terrifying killer…
Ethan Hawke will seek to terrify audiences in the new film “Black Phone,” with the first trailer released on Thursday.
The film itself will land in theaters on February 4 and it’s based upon a short story of the same name from writer Joe Hill. Scott Derrickson serves as director after previously teaming up with Hawke on the popular horror film “Sinister.”
Here’s the synopsis for the movie:
“Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.”
From the brief footage revealed in the trailer, Hawke looks like he’s at his scariest while playing the serial killer and there are other supernatural elements including Finney’s friend, who seems to be dreaming about his abduction and how to possibly find him.
