The first look at “Cobra Kai” season 5 has arrived as Terry Silver tightens his grip and expands his empire after winning the All-Valley Karate Tournament…
“Cobra Kai” season 5 will arrive on September 9 on Netflix and the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season has arrived.
When “Cobra Kai” season 4 ended, both Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence had been defeated after Terry Silver returned from exile and helped lead his Cobra Kai dojo to victory in the All-Valley Karate Tournament. Afterwards, Terry turned the tables on his former mentor by having John Kreese framed and arrested, which leaves him as the sole man in charge of Cobra Kai.
As season 5 begins, Terry has expanded his empire by opening a chain of Cobra Kai dojos — a plan he once attempted to execute in “The Karate Kid Part III” until his chosen champion was defeated by Daniel. Now Terry has more power than ever along with a ton of money to help open Cobra Kai locations while Daniel has essentially closed down teaching at Miyagi-Do and Johnny is out of town completely as he heads to Mexico in an attempt to retrieve Miguel.
Of course, Daniel may be down but he’s not out because as teased in the final moments from “Cobra Kai” season 4, he decided to call in reinforcements by asking his former rival turned friend Chozen to join him in America to help rebuild the legacy that Mr. Miyagi started years earlier.
Here’s the official synopsis from Netflix:
“Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Terry Silver is expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.”
