The first “Dune: Part Two” trailer has arrived with Florence Pugh and Austin Butler joining the sequel as a war starts to erupt…
The first look at “Dune: Part Two” has finally arrived with the film set for release on November 3.
The sequel will pick up after the events in the first film where House Atreides was betrayed and effectively wiped out by their rivals in House Harkonnen after they were sent to the planet Arrakis to begin mining a valuable resource called melange or better known as spice. It was a plot orchestrated by Emperor Shaddam IV — who will be played by Christopher Walken in the sequel — as he sought to eradicate a potential rival to his throne in House Atreides leader, Duke Leto Atreides.
Despite House Harkonnen’s best attempts, Paul Atreides — Duke Leto’s son and the heir to House Atreides — survived the massacre alongside his mother, Lady Jessica and now they are seeking to raise an army to get revenge and take back what was lost.
The upcoming sequel will explore the relationship shared between Paul (played by Timothee Chalamet) and Chani (played by Zendaya) as well as introduce several new characters who did not appear in the first film.
At the top of that list is Florence Pugh, who will portray Princess Irulan, who is daughter to Emperor Shaddam as well as Austin Butler joining the cast as the murderous and cunning Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen — nephew to Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgard) and the expected heir to his throne. Both of those characters play a major role in the upcoming sequel.
