The first look at “Echo” has arrived as Marvel unleashes its first TV-MA series on Disney+ with the entire season arriving in January…

When you have Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin as a mentor and role model, it’s safe to say things are going to get bloody and more than a few adult words will be used.

That’s why “Echo” — the latest series set to arrive with all episodes dropping on January 10 —  will be Marvel’s first ever TV-MA show on Disney+.

Echo — as played by Alaqua Cox — first appeared in “Hawkeye,” which also re-introduced Vincent D’Onofrio as The Kingpin after the played the same role for three seasons on “Daredevil,” which originally aired on Netflix. Now Echo is getting her own spinoff series with D’Onofrio front and center yet again as we get a better look at Fisk’s first encounter with the young girl who would grow up to become a deadly assassin.

When “Hawkeye” ended, Echo learned that Fisk was actually responsible for her father’s death, which led to her turning on him but it will be interesting to see how these two come back together again for the new series. Charlie Cox is also slated to make an appearance in “Echo” as he reprises his role as Daredevil before eventually starring in his own series, “Daredevil: Born Again.”

Here’s the official synopsis for “Echo”:

“The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.”

The new trailer certainly packs a punch with D’Onofrio providing a chilling voiceover as he remains one of the best Marvel villains this side of Thanos.

Take a look at the new trailer and get ready for “Echo” to debut on January 10 on Disney+.
