Eli Roth will unleash his new slasher film “Thanksgiving” in November and the first full length trailer has finally been released…
It looks like a bloody Black Friday stampede leads to an even bloodier holiday in Eli Roth’s latest film “Thanksgiving,” which is due out on November 17.
The new trailer for the upcoming film was unleashed on Wednesday with the first hint at what’s to come in a movie that’s actually 16 years in the making. Roth originally put together a trailer for “Thanksgiving” as part of the Grindhouse double feature with films from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.
While there was never actually any plan to develop the trailer into an full length movie, Roth revisited the idea after fans started clamoring for the teaser to transform into a real film. Now 16 years after that trailer debuted, Roth will finally bring “Thanksgiving” to live on the big screen.
Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming film coming in November:
“After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the holiday. Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan. Will the town uncover the killer and survive the holidays…or become guests at his twisted holiday dinner table?”
The screenplay for the film comes from Jeff Rendell with an original story created by Rendell and Roth. “Thanksgiving” stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon.
