A new look at “Fear the Walking Dead” season 6 has arrived along with a debut date now confirmed for October on AMC…
Following a longer hiatus than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic, “Fear the Walking Dead” will return for season 6 on Sunday night, October 11 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC
The announcement was made during the “Fear the Walking Dead” panel during Comic Con @ Home on Friday.
Now be forewarned — “Fear the Walking Dead” was only partially filmed when production was shut down due to the pandemic so just under half of season 6 has been completed. Showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg confirmed the entire season has been written already but there’s still no word when production on the show will begin again.
As far as where we pick up when season 6 begins, the end of season 5 saw Morgan forced to call on Ginny — the leader of a recently encountered group of survivors with several communities — to come help his people survive. After attempting to find a home of their own, Morgan and the rest of his friends were stuck without food or water, which then left them no choice but to ask for help. When Ginny arrived, she splintered the group up into different vehicles that were bound for the various communities under her control. As for Morgan, Ginny decided he wasn’t going to fit in with her plans so he’s shot in the stomach and left for dead.
Obviously, Morgan didn’t die quite yet but his fate won’t actually be revealed until “Fear the Walking Dead” returns for season 6.
Two more surprises announced at the “Fear the Walking Dead” panel — Zoe Colletti — best known for her recent role in the film “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” will join the cast as Ginny’s sister Dakota. Also, Dwight and Sherry will be reunited for the first time since appearing together on “The Walking Dead.”
