Florence Pugh offered a first look at filming for Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” including her new battle-ready costume as Yelena Belova…
Production on Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” is officially underway in Atlanta with star Florence Pugh giving a first look at her new costume and a very brief shot of the set where they’re filming.
The Oscar nominated actress posted a video on Instagram showing off her new battle-ready outfit where she reprises her role as Yelena Belova — the surrogate sister to Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow character — who has appeared in several Marvel films and TV series.
“Hey guys, how are you doing? I know I’ve dropped off for a little bit, but that’s partially because I was whisked off to Atlanta to shoot a movie that I’m not really supposed to talk about,” Pugh said in the video. “But I can show you things, sneakily, as long as you don’t tell anyone…I can show you a sneak peek of the set. They’re shooting. I’ll be quiet now.”
“Thunderbolts” director Jake Schreier also makes a brief appearance in the video as he prepares for a shot in the upcoming film, which is due out on May 2, 2025.
Plot details are being kept under wraps but “Thunderbolts” is essentially Marvel’s answer to “The Suicide Squad” as a group of villains and anti-heroes team up together to go on covert missions for the government.
In addition to Pugh reprising her role as Yelena Belova, she will be joined by Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier, Hannah John-Kamen reprising her role as Ghost from “Ant-Man and the Wasp, Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka The U.S. Agent after appearing in “The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the mastermind behind the group, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbour as Red Guardian and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmasker after they both previously appeared alongside Pugh in the “Black Widow’ movie.
