The first trailer for the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy” holiday special has arrived ahead of the debut on Disney+ on November 25.
The special was written and directed by James Gunn and it will feature all of the members of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” head of the third film that’s due out on May 5, 2023. This will also officially close out Phase 4 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The trailer reveals Star-Lord aka Peter Quill is still dealing with sadness after losing Gamora and the rest of the team wants to cheer him up by returning to his home planet on Earth where everybody is just about to celebrate Christmas.
In an attempt to really give Quill a reason for the season, Drax and Mantis decide to bring him a special guest that will help cheer him up — so they kidnap Kevin Bacon.
Yes, that Kevin Bacon.
The special stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and Sean Gunn.
The “Guardians of the Galaxy” holiday special is the latest extra offering from Marvel Studios after “Werewolf By Night” debuted in October ahead of Halloween. Judging by the trailer, Gunn definitely had fun with this one.
