The third film in director Ti West’s “X” trilogy called “MaXXXine” will arrive in July but the first trailer for the highly anticipated horror film is out now…
The first trailer for the highly anticipated horror film “MaXXXine” arrived on Monday ahead of the film’s release on July 4 weekend. The film caps off Ti West’s “X” trilogy that began with two films that were both released in 2022 and featured Mia Goth in the lead role.
The first film focused on Goth’s character Maxine Minx — an up and coming adult film actress, who gets caught in a brutal showdown with an old woman and her husband who wipe out her fiance and their entire film crew before she’s ultimately the only survivor from the bloodbath. The second film was a prequel called “Pearl” where Goth played the lead character once again but this time she portrayed the younger version of the woman who would go onto kill all of Maxine’s friends during that fateful production.
The third film in the trilogy called “MaXXXine” picks up in 1985 after Maxine makes her way to Los Angeles where she’s established herself as an adult film star looking to transition into more mainstream roles. But at the same time that Maxine works towards her ultimate goal of becoming a household name, a serial killer known as the Night Stalker begins hunting down women in Hollywood. Add to that, a private detective played by Kevin Bacon starts sniffing around Maxine with hints that the past is coming back to haunt her.
The upcoming film also includes a star studded cast with Goth and Bacon alongside Eizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins and Giancarlo Esposito.
Take a look at the new trailer and get ready to remember the name “MaXXXine” when the film drops later this year.
