The newest trailer for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” features Kang the Conquerer and a deal he attempts to make with Scott Lang…
As the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets underway, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” will usher in a much deeper look at the key villain who will play a major role in numerous future films.
Jonathan Majors — who previously appeared as “He Who Remains” in “Loki” — will make his first official appearance as Kang the Conquerer in the upcoming “Ant-Man” sequel. Kang is a time traveling villain with dozens of variations of himself that span the multi-verse — each one seeking different goals but many looking to conquer the known universe — and this particular version will be locked inside the quantum realm when Scott Lang and his entire family get trapped there.
Of course, Marvel has already announced that all of the current films will eventually lead to “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” so it’s safe to say Kang will remain a major player and this will be a huge introduction for the character.
The new trailer seems to hint a bargain struck by Kang with Scott Lang that promises him back the five years he missed with his daughter Cassie during the blip after Thanos snapped his fingers and half of life in the universe disappeared.
It’s safe to assume that Kang won’t be the most trustworthy person that Scott will ever encounter, especially with Hope’s mother warning him against trusting this nefarious villain.
