Take a look at the new “Obi-Wan Kenobi” trailer as one of the last remaining Jedis tries to stay hidden with his former apprentice desperate to hunt him down…
The new trailer for the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” six-episode limited series arrived on Wednesday, which is dubbed “Star Wars” day — May the 4th be with you — and there’s new footage to dive into.
The upcoming special event series takes place a decade after the events in “Revenge of the Sith” as the Galactic Empire is now firmly in control with Emperor Palpatine ruling with an iron fist while also issuing orders through his emissary — none other than Sith Lord Darth Vader.
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) is trying his best to stay hidden on Tatooine where he’s stationed in order to keep an eye on a growing Luke Skywalker, who is living with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru on the desert planet.
Of course, Obi-Wan can only stay hidden for so long, especially with his former apprentice doing everything possible to hunt him down along with any other remaining Jedis scattered across the galaxy.
The new trailer features the fearsome Inquisitors — a band of hunters sent to find any Jedis who managed to escape the Emperor’s wrath when he ordered them all killed. One particular Inquisitor named Reva seems to really want to find Obi-Wan and either catch him or kill him.
The trailer also reveals a teaser for Hayden Christensen’s return as Darth Vader after he last played the legendary villain in “Revenge of the Sith” back in 2005. Now Christensen will return to the role 17 years later while playing an older and much more powerful Vader as he continues to embrace the Dark Side of the Force.
Watching Vader being assembled during the trailer has to be the highlight not to mention is unmistakable breathing, which is unsettling yet incredibly exciting at the same time.
