The first look at “Saw X” has arrived as Jigsaw makes his return alongside his protege Amanda in this new prequel/sequel due out in September…
I want to play a game.
Prepare to hear those iconic words as spoken by Tobin Bell in his return as John Kramer aka Jigsaw in the upcoming sequel/prequel “Saw X” that’s due out on September 29 and the first trailer has just been unleashed.
The film takes an interesting twist because it actually takes place between the events from the original “Saw” in 2004 and the sequel “Saw II” released in 2005. In canon, John Kramer died during the events of “Saw III” but he continued to make appearances throughout the various sequels through flashbacks as well as video and audio recordings.
This time around, The Jigsaw Killer is very much alive with a story that will also reunite him with his protege Amanda Young — played by Shawnee Smith — who reprises her role from the original “Saw” films as well.
Here’s a synopsis for the upcoming film:
“John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back. The most chilling installment of the SAW franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.”
Kevin Greutert, who previously directed “Saw VI” and “Saw 3D,” returns to direct “Saw X” with a script from Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg, who previously wrote “Jigsaw” and “Spiral: From the Book of Saw.”
The new “Saw X” film will be unleashed in theaters on September 29 but for now take a look at the trailer to see what’s coming!
