Get a first look at “Significant Other,” a new horror film coming to Paramount+ starring “It Follows” Maika Monroe and Jake Lacy…
A new horror film titled “Significant Other” is headed directly to Paramount+ on October 7 with the first trailer for the upcoming movie released on Tuesday.
The film features Maika Monroe — best known for her roles in films such as “It Follows” and the recent thriller “The Watcher” — alongside Jake Lacy — who previously starred in “High Fidelity” and the recent HBO hit series “The White Lotus” — as a young couple who end up in a backpacking trip gone horribly wrong.
Here’s the official synopsis from Paramount:
“SIGNIFICANT OTHER follows a young couple Harry (Jake Lacy, “White Lotus”) and Ruth (Maika Monroe, “It Follows”) who take a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest, but things take a dark turn when they realize they may not be alone.”
“Signifcant Other” was written and directed by Dan Berk & Robert Olsen, who previously worked with Monroe on another feature film of theirs called “Villains.”
The film will actually make its debut at New York Comic Con on October 6 with the cast and crew appearing afterwards for a panel to speak about the movie with the audience in attendance.
Following the premiere, “Significant Other” will land on Paramount+ starting on October 7.
