The first look at “Terrifier 3” has arrived with the two-minute teaser originally available during the “Terrifier 2” re-release….
Imagine waking up to find Art the Clown stuffing presents under the Christmas tree.
That’s exactly the premise for the first look at “Terrifier 3” with a new teaser released for the upcoming horror film written and directed by Damien Leone.
The teaser was originally shown as part of the “Terrifier 2” re-release in early November but now the trailer arrived online with a look at the highly anticipated sequel, which takes place at Christmas.
In the clip, a little girl goes downstairs early on Christmas morning and she finds Santa Claus placing presents under the tree — but this ain’t Jolly old Saint Nick! Instead, Art the Clown reveals himself wearing a bloody Santa outfit as he places those presents surely filled with body parts and other gruesome reminders from his horrendous crime spree.
The final shot shows Art covered in blood as he enjoys dipping something — definitely not a cookie — into a glass of milk.
Leone has promised that “Terrifier 3” will lean back further into the original “Terrifier” with more gore and scares with a stripped down story that doesn’t dive quite as deep in the mythology as what unfolded in “Terrifier 2,” which he has compared to “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.”
When “Terrifier 2” ended, Sienna (played by Lauren LaVera) defeated Art the Clown after she decapitated the serial killer while simultaneously saving her younger brother from his reign of terror. It turns out that was short-lived success, however, as the final scene shows Victoria Hayes — the sole survivor from the original “Terrifier” film — giving birth to Art’s severed head in a truly shocking scene at a mental institution.
In other words, Art the Clown lives again.
Not much else is known about “Terrifier 3” outside of those details, although Leone has said that he expects to reunite with some of his past cast including LaVera returning as the final girl battling Art the Clown.
“Terrifier 3” will hit theaters on October 25, 2024 but for now take a look at the teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel.
