The final trailer for “The Boys” season 2 has arrived with a closer look at the real threat coming this season from the newest member of The Seven…
There’s a lot to absorb from the final trailer for “The Boys” season 2 before the returns on Amazon Prime on Friday, Sept. 4.
Judging by this trailer it appears the newest member of The Seven — Stormfront (as played by Aya Cash) — may end up as the biggest threat that Vought International has ever produced as she advocates for the creation of an entire supe army to combat terror around the world.
Of course, savvy fans of the comic book remember Stormfront was a prominent neo-Nazi created during World War II as the first known supe, who eventually joins the rest of the superhero ranks. Now the TV version of “The Boys” has gender swapped the character and it’s unclear exactly how Stormfront will make an impact but showrunner Eric Kripke previously stated that the upcoming season would deal with real life issues like white supremacy so it certainly seems like that character could somewhat mirror the original source material.
The rest of the trailer is just as bonkers as ever with people blowing up, others being cut down by Homelander’s laser vision and of course a whale being harpooned by a speed boat.
Here’s the official synopsis for “The Boys” season 2 from Amazon Prime:
“In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.”
“The Boys” returns with the first three episodes of season 2 on Friday, Sept. 4 followed by new episodes every Friday until the season finale in October. We will have full coverage including recaps here on Nerdcore Movement.
