The first look at “The Boys” season 3 has arrived with Butcher going to the greatest lengths to finally give him an advantage over the Supes….
Billy Butcher will do whatever it takes to destroy Vought International and the Supes they employ — even if that means juicing up with a shot of Compound-V.
That’s one of many shocking moments in the first look at “The Boys” season 3, which debuted with a teaser trailer on Saturday ahead of the series return on June 3 on Amazon Prime.
In the aftermath of “The Boys” season 2 where Homelander had to watch his girlfriend and ageless neo-Nazi Stormfront get burned alive by his biological son, it appears he’s even more unhinged as the new season begins while he tries to maintain control over The Seven.
As for Butcher, the trailer shows him powering up with Compound-V in order to finally level the playing field against the powerful superheroes he’s determined to take down at any cost.
Jensen Ackles also makes his first appearance as Soldier Boy — the powerful Supe who was once the leader of a group like The Seven before Homelander even existed. Needless to say, it appears Soldier Boy is still just as strong as ever but what role he’ll play in season 3 remains to be seen.
Of course, “The Boys” season 3 will also eventually get to an episode titled “Herogasm” which is ripped directly from the pages of the comic book source material. In that story, the superheroes all retreat to an island getaway for a weekend of sex, drugs and debauchery while Butcher and The Boys are determined to strike back at them.
“Herogasm” is undoubtedly one of the most jaw dropping comics in history so there’s no telling how far “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke will go in the series that loves to push the boundaries.
