The first look at “The Mandalorian” season 3 has arrived as Mando and Grogu set out on new adventures including a return to Mandalore…
It will be an army of two when “The Mandalorian” season 3 debuts in February 2023 but the first look at what lies ahead for Mando and Grogu was revealed in the first teaser trailer that dropped at D23 on Saturday.
The season picks up after Mando — or Din Djarin if you’re not into the whole brevity thing — reunited with Grogu when the miniature Jedi decided to abandon his training with Luke Skywalker to instead return with the only father figure he’s ever known.
When season 3 picks up, Mando is still dealing with his excommunication from the Children of the Watch, who tossed him out of their ranks when he revealed that he had removed his helmet in front of other people. Of course, we later learned that the Children of the Watch are considered a cult on Mandalore and that will put Mando in direct opposition of Bo Katan-Kryze, who seeks to bring her home planet back to the glory it once knew before the Galactic Empire arrived.
Of course that means Katee Sackhoff will be returning as Bo Katan as witnessed in the trailer and it’s likely she’ll stand in opposition of Mando even more after she learned a season ago that he possesses the weapon known as the Darksaber, which has been teased in prophecies as the object that will be held by the one true ruler of Mandalore.
The new trailer also teases Mando reuniting with some friends along the way including a reunion with Greef Karga, who played a major role in season 1 of the series.
Take a look at the new trailer for “The Mandalorian” season 3 and get ready for the show to return on Disney+ in early 2023.
