The first look at “The Marvels’ has arrived as Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan go on a cosmic adventure together…
When “Ms. Marvel” season 1 ended, Kamala Khan had just started to truly understand her powers when she was suddenly zapped out of her New Jersey bedroom and Captain Marvel — aka Carol Danvers and also Kamala’s favorite hero and greatest inspiration — took her place.
Why did these two suddenly swap places?
Well that’s exactly what will be explored in “The Marvels” with the first trailer for the upcoming film now available. The film won’t land in theaters until November 10 but a first look at the misadventures that will happen when Carol meets Kamala and then Monica Rambeau gets thrown into the mix should make for quite a cosmic teamup for these heroes.
Here’s the official synopsis for “The Marvels”:
In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”
Of course, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will also play a major role in the film, especially after the friendship he built with Carol dating all the way back to the mid 90s as established in the first “Captain Marvel” movie.
This time around, Fury is trying to understand how the Carol, Kamala and Monica’s powers are connected, which makes them swap places with each other whenever they go active.
This will also serve as the first time that Kamala Khan will crossover from the Disney+ series into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe — and she’s a welcome addition after a truly spectacular first season of “Ms. Marvel.”
It should make for quite a film when “The Marvels” lands in theaters in November but for now take a look at the new teaser trailer from Marvel Studios along with the new poster below:
