The first look at James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” has now been revealed along with the entire cast and the characters they’re playing…
James Gunn’s take on “The Suicide Squad” definitely looks a lot different than its predecessor.
As part of DC FanDome — the two-day event celebrating upcoming films and television shows from the DC/Warner Bros. universe — the first look at “The Suicide Squad” was revealed on Saturday along with the massive cast and the characters they’ll be playing.
While some cast members were already well known — including Margot Robbie returning as Harley Quinn — the majority of the characters had not been unveiled until Saturday. With that said, here’s the character list along with the reveal video shown during FanDome
Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
Viola Davis as Amanda Waller
Joel Kinnamen as Capt. Rick Flagg
Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang
Idris Elba as Bloodsport
John Cena as Peacemaker
Michael Rooker as Savant
Peter Capaldi as Thinker
Pete Davidson as Blackguard
David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man
Nathan Fillion as T.D.K.
Flula Borg as Javelin
Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2
Steve Agee as King Shark
Mayling Ng as Mongal
Alicia Braga as Solsaria
Sean Gunn as Weasel
In addition to the cast reveal, the first behind the scenes footage was also shown while Gunn continues to edit the movie after production wrapped back in February. Obviously not much was shown in terms of plot or storyline but it’s clear there will be a much bigger feel to this movie than almost anything else Gunn has done in the past, which includes two “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies for Marvel.
Take a look at the new footage along with the cast reveals with “The Suicide Squad” set to land in theaters on August 6, 2021.
