The first look at “The Walking Dead” season 11 — the final season — has arrived with a look at the past before traveling into the future…
The end is near.
The first look at the final season of “The Walking Dead” has arrived with a new trailer that travels back to the past before then taking us to the future for the last episodes in the series.
When it’s all said and done, “The Walking Dead” season 11 will have a total of 24 episodes but those will be split into three different parts. The first set of episodes will arrive starting on Sunday night, August 22 with Parts 2 and 3 then premiering in 2022.
The new trailer that dropped on Thursday gives a look at the past with a focus on Rick Grimes when he was leading the survivors through the zombie apocalypse and then taking viewers back to the present day where many of those same friends are still battling to live through each and every day.
Obviously, “The Walking Dead” has already teased the arrival of The Commonwealth — a massive, sprawling community from the comic books bigger than any other ever encountered on the show. The guards from The Commonwealth were those who captured Eugene, King Ezekiel, Yumiko and The Princess at the end of season 10.
Meanwhile, Daryl and the rest of the survivors are trying to find gather supplies enough to restart the community in Alexandria after battling it out with the Whisperers.
With 24 episodes to go, it’s safe to say “The Walking Dead” will have plenty of twists and turns before actually reaching the final episode.
For now, take a look at the new season 11 trailer for “The Walking Dead” and get ready for the show to return on August 22 on AMC.
