The Henry Cavill led show based on the popular book series is finally set to return for season 2 on Netflix on December 17 after the first season ended all the way back in 2019.
Like most series, “The Witcher” saw significant delays in production due to the global pandemic but now the popular fantasy show is set to return with the first look at season 2 revealed on Friday in a new trailer.
Here’s the official synopsis for the season ahead:
“Convinced Yennefer’s (Anya Chalotra) life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
The first season of “The Witcher” was a smash hit for Netflix, which prompted the streaming service to not only order season 2 but also look to expand the universe with another series already in the works.
